This year, we're thrilled to introduce an unparalleled classic car adventure, the first of its kind in the UK. At Hire One, we're passionate about exploration and have been devising a novel way to bring the excitement of rural discovery to everyone.

We've integrated a Brantz trip meter into one of our signature 2cv cars, curating various paths around East Kent. These picturesque trails lead past notable sites and charming pubs, culminating either at a pub or an intriguing destination worth investigating.

Don’t worry if you’re a novice; comprehensive instructions about the system’s operation are provided before you embark on the journey. A road book accompanies you, featuring a Ball and Arrow, “Tulip” system, with all necessary details. In case of any detours, postcodes are available to guide you back to the intended path.

Our adventure doesn’t involve any contests or time limits, instead encouraging leisurely exploration, providing ample time to soak in Kent’s scenic beauty. If you have a particular endpoint in mind, we can accommodate it with sufficient advance notice. Alternatively, we can suggest or arrange for a lunch stop during one of our prearranged routes.

Tulip Navigation (Ball & Arrow), an explanation

The name of this type of navigation comes from the Tulip Rally, which first used it in the 1950s. Tulip, or ball and arrow instructions, are simple diagrams of the route junctions with the ball indicating where you come from and the arrow indicating where you are going. Normally they are given in order. Tulips may be orientated as on the map or turned around so that the ball is always at the bottom, or most of the balls and arrows may be left off deliberately. Sometimes they may be squared up. Here are a few variations on the same route described with tulips:
